Coaching for teams that want to grow and thrive

TTeam coaching gives you insight into how to work better together as a team. Teams that have a common goal and are well aligned perform better. They work together toward the same goal and have a strong sense of ownership.

Strong teams do not 'just happen'

For a well-functioning organization, you need well-run teams. It’s as simple as that. But it’s not simple to put into practice. As an executive, you know how challenging it is to manage a team effectively. Strong teams, that run well and feel connected to the collective purpose, don’t “just happen.”

What makes managing teams so challenging? Why do so many leaders and their teams end up in a vicious cycle? Why do processes, structures, goals, and behaviors sometimes seem to work against each other, instead of reinforcing each other?

There can be a variety of reasons for this. However, that does not take away from the fact that it is possible to name issues that occur regularly and indicate that a team is functioning sub-optimally, such as:

With team coaching, you can effectively address these issues and get your team’s energy flowing (again) in the desired direction

Coaching for teams: achieving more together than you thought possible

If you struggle to break a vicious circle or make lasting changes, I can help you further with coaching for teams. As a team coach, I am the outsider who observes and names what the team itself cannot see and articulate anymore.

From my independent position, I can put my finger on sore spots, creating a safe setting for the team members. In this way, they become (more) aware of their behavior and its effect on others, and real contact is made through mutual understanding.

From there, it becomes possible to change behavior, permanently improve collaboration, get everyone on the same page, and enhance processes sustainably.

You can achieve so much more together than you had thought possible if you pay real attention to each other. You must really want to know what motivates or bothers the other person, be willing to work on yourself, and realize that two steps forward and one step back may be necessary.

This is how you move forward together, step by step. Yes, with trial and error. But you help each other up again and keep going, with the common goal in mind. Because the team is aligned. The team members are “in alignment.”

De Team Alignment Method™

To achieve that shared success, I have been using the Team Alignment Method™ for many years. This proven method consists of 6 steps.

Step 1. Team inventory

Who is on your team, and which people are directly involved? What works, what doesn’t, and what qualities are needed where?

Step 2. Establish KPIs

Define the intended outcome and establish clear, realistic, and measurable KPIs.

Step 3. Personalities culture

Mutual understanding of the hows and whys of different personalities and cultures creates room for change.

Step 4. Communication

Train your team using communication alignment (inform, engage, position, activate, motivate, and facilitate).

Step 5. Clarity

Get everyone on the same page by clearly defining the process and clarifying the role of each team member.

Step 6. Implementation and progress

Implement, monitor progress, and achieve milestones. Fine-tune your team’s alignment and achieve sustainable growth.

Going through the Team Alignment Method™ properly leads to:

Why does using this method properly lead to these results? Because my approach is holistic: we look at the big picture. At each step, we also take into account the body, mind, and emotions. Not in a woolly way, but very practical. To illustrate that, I elaborate on the above points below.

Changing behavior and working better together

“Alone you go faster, together you get further” is a well-known tile wisdom that ignores the unruly practice.

Because what do you do when there is gossip? If the results are consistently lagging? Or if certain issues remain unaddressed because no one picks them up??

We examine exactly what you want to achieve, what the team’s strengths are, and how to give them more space (steps 1 and 2). We also look at the how and why of certain behaviors and how they can be transformed (step 3).

Greater mutual understanding creates room to experiment, allowing you to discover with an open mind what works best for you and for the team. People change their behavior where necessary and start working together better (step 4).

Strategic alignment

Strategic alignment ensures all team members are aligned because a good strategic planning process clarifies:

I help you and your team flesh out this process and translate it into practice (steps 2, 5, and 6).

Process improvement and sustainable growth

People who feel good about themselves and have logical work processes constitute the beating heart of your organization.

But what do you do when there are backlogs due to busyness or illness? When processes are cumbersome? Or if extra work is regularly needed because a product or service does not meet (internal?

We analyze together where the pain points are in your processes and how best to address them (steps 5 and 6).
